Professional Experience

Andy practices business law with a focus on corporate restructuring, lending and private mergers and acquisitions. He is recognized nationally and internationally both as a leading Canadian banking practitioner and as one of Canada’s pre-eminent restructuring practitioners, and is listed in many domestic and international directories including LEXPERT’S 500 leading lawyers in Canada.

In addition to carrying on an active practice as Chair of the firm’s Debt Products and Restructuring practice, Andy serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer focusing externally on client relationships.

Andy has written on a wide variety of legal matters including corporate reorganizations, lending transactions and directors’ duties. He has led professional efforts to reform Canada’s business insolvency laws, serving as Chair of the Joint Task Force on Business Insolvency Law Reform of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals from 2001 to 2005. He lectures at the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto and serves as a director of the George Brown College Foundation.
